In keeping with the Church’s enduring mission of charity and love for the poor, the St. Vincent de Paul Society of Holy Rosary Catholic Parish, Wuse, Abuja, held her annual Christmas Sharing for the Needy and the Poor (Our Masters) on Saturday, 20 December 2025, at the Parish Civic Centre.

The outreach, a cherished tradition of the parish during the Christmas and Easter seasons, once again brought hope, dignity, and smiles to the faces of many within and around the parish community. Over 600 beneficiaries were attended to during the exercise, made possible through the generosity and goodwill of parishioners who donated money, food items, clothes, shoes, and other useful household materials.

Essential food items distributed included rice, cooking oil, Maggi cubes, Indomie noodles, and other staples, carefully packaged to meet immediate household needs. Each gift was given with warmth and compassion, reflecting the Gospel call to love and serve Christ – present in the poor.

The event was well coordinated and orderly, beginning with a structured registration process for all beneficiaries. Attendees were subsequently issued numbers to ensure fairness and smooth coordination. In an atmosphere of respect and dignity, beneficiaries were invited into the sharing arena in groups of ten, allowing for calm, efficient, and personal engagement.

Members of the St. Vincent de Paul Society worked tirelessly throughout the day, ensuring that the exercise ran seamlessly. Their dedication, combined with the selfless contributions of parishioners, created an atmosphere of joy, gratitude, and communal solidarity.
This annual Christmas Sharing stands as a powerful reminder of the parish’s commitment to living out the teachings of Christ, especially His call to care for “the least of our brothers and sisters.” Indeed, the 2025 edition once again affirmed Holy Rosary Parish as a community where faith is expressed not only in worship, but also in concrete acts of love.

The parish extends heartfelt appreciation to all parishioners and benefactors whose generosity made this noble outreach possible. May God richly reward every giver, and may the joy of Christmas continue to shine through acts of charity and compassion.

On behalf of the entire Holy Rosary Catholic Parish, we sincerely thank the St. Vincent de Paul Society for their unwavering commitment to serving the poor and needy among us. We also deeply appreciate all parishioners and benefactors whose generous donations of food items, clothing, shoes, and financial support made the 2025 Christmas Sharing a great success. Your kindness has brought hope, joy, and dignity to many lives this Christmas season. May the Lord, whom we serve in our brothers and sisters, richly reward us all, Amen.
“As you did it to one of the least of these my brethren, you did it to me.” – Matthew 25:40
